Upon answering a call of a suicidal man covered in lighter fluid, Officer [Troy Nitzky](https://giglio-bradylist.com/citizen-report-no-1662841118-1985712198) deployed a bean bag projectile that struck Dustin Pigeon in the hip moments before officer Keith Patrick Sweeney fired his 9mm five times, three shots struck the subject, killing Mr. Pigeon.

Captain Bo Matthews of the [OKCPD](https://giglio-bradylist.com/oklahoma/oklahoma-city-police-department) told the press the shooting was in self defense, however Sweeney was later charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree.
