Seminole County Sheriff, Anthony Louie, was appointed in August of 2023 after former [Sheriff Shannon Smith](https://giglio-bradylist.com/individual/shannon-%20smith) resigned under a deferred prosecution agreement. The following January, [Chris Perteet Sr. was terminated from the District 22 District Attorney's Office for misconduct including theft of controlled dangerous substances evidence, mishandling of controlled dangerous substance evidence, illegal drug use, and inconsistent statements concerning illegal drug use. ](https://giglio-bradylist.com/citizen-report-no-1745703534-1410628105)  
  
Given Sheriff Louie's close working relationship with the District 22 Attorney's Office, it is reasonable to presume that Sheriff Louie knew, or *should* have known of Perteet's misconduct yet employed Perteet as an investigator after January of 2024.  
  
In April of 2025, the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma issued a *giglio* letter regarding Chris Perteet's serious misconduct.
